A New Microwave Boiler Could Soon Be Available As UK Firm Unveils Zero-missions Gas Replacement

A UK company is developing what is thought to be the world’s first microwave boiler as a zero-emissions replacement for gas boilers that will start to be phased out in the UK from 2025.

The new boilers heat water using the microwave technology already found in around 93 per cent of UK homes and switching to one from a gas boiler could cut a household’s CO2 emissions by nearly a quarter, the company has calculated, based on government figures.

The producer Heat Wayv has successfully trialled the technology and is about to build the prototype units, which they plan to trial soon through housebuilders and housing associations...
